This electric four-piece lineup delivers a new independent Chicago sound; from sexed-up, sugary sweet hits and intense dark epics, to bangin' live hip-hop beats (featuring MC Qwel of Typical Cats on two tracks). Their sound, led by producer DJ White Lightning on the boards and low end, is driven by deep bass, tight percussion, and melodies that will make even the most hard core stop and smell the roses. With their debut album "Subtleties of the Game", these native Chicago artists have created a peerless record good for the drive, the barbeque and any intimate moment in between. Royce lays down the heart and soul from the tradition of independent Chicago music. |

I wanted to sit down and give you my thoughts, Royce is definitely
one of the highlight editions that I listened this year, reminds me on
some europeans here doing the nu funk stuff (The Funky Lowlives, Makoto
from Japan, etc.), but this contains more progression inside.
